To measure a JIC fitting size, first determine the outside diameter (OD) of the male thread or the inside diameter (ID) of the female thread using a caliper. Then, compare the measurement to a JIC size chart to identify the corresponding fitting size, taking note that JIC fittings are measured in 1/16-inch increments of the OD.
