The #8 JIC (Joint Industry Council) fitting refers to a specific size in hydraulic and other fluid transfer systems. It has a 3/4-16 UNF (Unified National Fine) thread size. The nominal outer diameter of the corresponding tube or hose is 1/2 inch.
