R1 and R2 hydraulic hoses differ primarily in their construction and pressure handling capabilities. R1 hoses, also known as 1-wire braided hoses, are designed for lower-pressure applications and have a single layer of steel wire reinforcement. In contrast, R2 hoses, or 2-wire braided hoses, feature two layers of steel wire reinforcement, allowing them to handle higher pressure applications.
