JIC fittings can be prone to leaks if over-tightened or if the mating surfaces are damaged, as they rely on metal-to-metal contact for sealing. They are also not ideal for high-vibration applications because the seal can loosen over time. Additionally, JIC fittings are generally not recommended for extremely high-pressure systems compared to other fitting types.
