NPT (National Pipe Taper) and NPTF (National Pipe Taper Fuel) threads are similar but not identical; NPTF threads have a more precise design for a leak-free seal without additional sealants. While they can sometimes be used together in non-critical applications, it is not recommended for high-pressure or safety-critical systems due to potential leakage issues.
